Born in Boston, Massachusets and raised on Lake Murray near Columbia, South Carolina, he has three younger sisters.
After attending public grade schools he attended the University of South Carolina (B.S. in Marketing/MIS) and the University of Georgia ‘90 (MBA in MIS/Corp. Finance).
Fr. Bob worked for a five years in the Information Technology field before discerning a vocation to the priesthood while attending All Saints Catholic Church in Dunwoody, Georgia.
After a pre-seminary pastoral year at Sacred Heart Basilica in downtown Atlanta, he studied philosophy at St. Meinrad and Mount St. Mary’s Seminaries. His major theologate formation was at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana where he received an MDIV in 2000.
Fr. Bob was ordained to the priesthood June 24, 2000 for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. His priestly assignments include serving as Parochial Vicar at (St. Jude the Apostle, St. Brigid, and St. Pius X parishes) and as Pastor of two parishes (St. Luke the Evangelist and St. Brendan the Navigator). He has also served in two short-term assignments as a chaplain at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School and with Mustard Seed Communities in Jamaica.
Most recently he served as chaplain at Wyoming Catholic College in Lander for the past five years.
Fr. Bob has been the Chaplain at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School since July, 2018.
With an emphasis on youth and young adult ministry throughout his priesthood, Fr. Bob, an avid outdoorsman, has participated in many wilderness expeditions, pilgrimages, and mission trips with many of his youth and young adult groups. He has participated in outdoor leadership training with NOLS, Outward Bound, Alaska Mountaineering School, Catholic Outdoor Renewal (COR) and the Wilderness Medicine Institute.
His hobbies include sailing, water skiing, mountaineering, snow skiing, hiking, biking, motorcycling, rock climbing, jogging, and just about any outdoor activity.
He enjoys supporting the students in all the various activities tin which they engage.
