Welcome to Blessed Trinity Catholic High School’s new, dynamic Web site. On July 18th we introduced the Web site to the World Wide Web with a “soft launch.” When the BT faculty and staff return to the school the second week of August they will be learning the many features of the new site and will be working on inputting materials necessary for our students and families for the upcoming school year. The administration hopes that eventually the site will be the first place you turn to get all the news concerning the happenings at Blessed Trinity. We would very much like to hear your comments and suggestions once we get the hang of the new procedures and Web site dynamics. Thank you very much for your patience as we undertake this awesome step.
For quick summer resource access please note:

If you would like to read more about the new site, please find below rising-senior Kevin Grommersch’s May article published in the student-run newspaper, The Titan Times.
As Blessed Trinity continues to grow and improve, a newer, more dynamic Web site is in the works for the best communication between home and school.
BT Principal Mr. Frank Moore introduced this new Web site in his letter in the April edition of The Trinity. Kapp Koncepts has been commissioned to initially design and then host the Web site which is hoped to be up and running by the time classes resume in August.
Mrs. Mary Beth Dever, the school’s director of communications, will oversee the site just as she does the school newsletter, by working with the various departments at school to ensure the most accurate, up-to-date information.
The Web site will be divided into a three major components: first, a regular site that is visible to the world; second, a student/parent intranet; and thirdly, a faculty/staff intranet.
Once inside students and parents will be exposed to a wealth of information about Blessed Trinity. Blessed Trinity will be implementing its own version of The Homework Site.
According to Mrs. Dever, “The new Web site will provide parents with much needed up-to-date information. They will be able to check the site from their computer to learn about upcoming events, changes in the calendar, recent athletic scores, photos of a fine arts performance, as well as The Trinity.”
Mr. Jason Podhorez, the school’s computer systems administrator, is also looking forward to the new Web site. “The new Web site will take the three areas of web presence we have now: the school Web site, the homework site, and the Intranet and combine them into one cohesive place,” he said. The new Web site in this sense will be a lot more convenient in that students don’t have to go to three different places to get their information.
The goal of the Web site is to link parents, students, and the school together.
The Web site will also help internally as, “teachers use the site to submit announcements in the morning via their laptops as opposed to having to write them out and, in many instances, run them to the Front Office,” said Mrs. Dever.
Most students seemed excited about the changes. Many have, for a long time, felt the site needed to be revamped. Greg Johnson, a senior at Blessed Trinity, said, “The new Web site sounds like it will be amazing. Although I won’t be here to enjoy it next year I’m looking forward on using it to stay informed on what’s happening at BT.”
Mr. Moore, has been instrumental in the establishment of the Web site. In response to some of the comments from parents regarding a lack of communication between school and home, Mr. Moore decided to, “bring the Web site up-to-date.”
Mr. Moore went on to explained that the Web site will be, “completely redone and the new Web site will be very interactive with a calendar that will be updated at least once a day.”
Additionally, there will be many different sections designed to convey great amounts of information to various people interested in Blessed Trinity. “It will be a tremendous marketing tool for the school,” said Mrs. Dever.
Mr. Podhorez explained the power of the new Web site, especially the dynamic calendar, when he made the example, “A coach could fill out a schedule entry and have that entry appear on the team schedule, school calendar, athletic page, and other places simultaneously.” The versatile nature of the site will make this all possible and make everyone’s lives easier.
BT students were also excited about the changes. Senior Patrick Bradshaw said, “That sounds like it will be a lot better for the school next year. I wish we had the site earlier so I could have used it this year.”
Sophomore Eric Renz felt the same way. “It will be good to have the homework site as part of the main Web site. This will encourage students to visit the school Web site more often and see some of the athletic achievements.”
Mr. Moore described the many different sections of the Web site as encompassing “an alumni section, a development section that will allow people to give donations to BT electronically. A password protected section will allow teachers to have access to things students don’t have access to.”
This will enable all the different members of the Blessed Trinity community both past and present to access information about the school. Mr. Moore summarized the purpose of the Web site when he described the function of the Web site as being able to “bridge the gap between home and school.”
The new school Web site should be up accessible by mid-July. Around this time students and parents will be able to go online and create an account. Parents will be able to create their own homepage with all their students’ classes and activities. On the parent’s homepage, he/she will be able to see all the activities their student is involved in.
Mrs. Dever summed up the true effectiveness of the new Web site when she outlined its various purposes. “The new Web site is a tremendous opportunity for the BT community to learn about the happenings of the school, to contribute in an easier way, and to be more involved in their teenagers’ lives. The Web site will also enable others from outside the school to see what a great school we are and all the things we have to offer.”
